October 21, 2006 Rachel and Jim get married

Saturday was a beautiful fall day, a great one to celebrate the wedding of Rachel and Jim. Their little love story is so touching and sweet. They have known each other since they were teenagers and Jim was Rachel's brother's best friend. How special it was to have Rachel's brother be so happy that his best friend is now marrying his sister all these years later. The day started off at Rachel's moms house (who we know from our former lives as Bryn Mawr Rehab employees) and it was important for Rachel to have all her girls helping her get ready. It was touching to see the friendship these girls have with one another and the support they offer Rachel. We moved onto the church to meet up with the guys, and that is when we began to realize we were going to be in for some wild times. The saying "you're a lama" is still running through my head. The reception was at Downingtown Country Club, who always host such a nice event. We had fun playing with the Bently before moving into some group photos. Can you say wild!? This was one wild and crazy group and so much fun to be around. What a great party they had and we were so glad to be a part of it. Congratulations Rachel and Jim, thanks for all the fun!

October 20, 2006 Kevin & Lindsay get married

The rains cleared and the winds started blowing. It was a chilly but beautiful fall day to celebrate Kevin and Lindsay's wedding. What a beautiful bride Lindsay was and she won the award for super trouper - no request was too much for her, she laid on the bed, sat on the floor, faced the flames without complaint, what fun we had. We had a great time with them, their family, and their wedding party. It was so nice knowing many of them, and a privilege to be guests at their wedding. Humor was definately a part of the day. Lori was amused watching the groomsmen killing themselves with laughter over the anticipation of Kevin kneeling down at the alter and revealing "save me" taped in red to the bottom of his shoes. And his entering the reception (at the Westover Golf Club) donning a huge chain and cross went over quite well, but nothing topped the wearing of scuba equipment to remove the garter. Their live band was absolutely fantastic, Slippery, and kept the dance floor hopping all night long. Thanks Kevin and Lindsay for a memorable day!

Wedding guest signature book

I have been having a ton of fun putting together a wedding guest signature book for Melissa and Jesse from their engagement session. This is a great way to use a number of images from the engagement session by putting it into a book format with a hard cover. It will be used at the wedding for guests to sign a personal note to the couple and this can be done in any of the white spaces around the pictures. The first picture is of the front and back cover of the book and the other three pictures are samples of some of the pages (viewed as a double page spread). In total, there will be 20 pages.

October 15, 2006 Melissa & Jesse Engagement

We headed back to Baird Park for an engagement session this time with Melissa and Jesse. We love that place and it was fun using some spots we haven't tried before (including that orange plastic stuff used in blocking off construction projects). They were super fun and energetic. We had a great time with them, and thank goodness we were always ready to catch their action because they just love to have fun with one another. We are going to have a blast with them next June when they get married! And lucky us, we will see them again on Friday at Melissa's brother's wedding. Thanks Melissa and Jesse, we appreciated your enthusiasm and thinking anything we suggested was great.

And for those of you who are following our blog (thank you!), we did take the girls to Linvilla Orchards Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful family time together.

October 14 baby portrait

We met up with Amy and Ian and their 10 month old son at Linvilla Orchards in Media. We have never been there, and now we want to take the girls there tomorrow if we can. What a nice family oriented place. We even got a free pumpkin there today! Neville photographed Amy and Ian's wedding 5 1/2 years ago (Lori was out of commission as our first daughter had just been born at the time), so how special was it for us to be with them again today with their first born. What an honor it is for us to see couples over the years as they grow. We've also done the wedding photography for Amy's sister and brother over the past few years. We just love these connections and building these relationships, just another reason we love doing photography so much. What s beautiful little family they are, thanks guys for a fun morning, it was so good to see you again (and to listen to Ian's accent once more!)

October 7 Newborn Session

We had the wonderful opportunity to photography this precious little one. Such a petite little thing with such big eyes. Only 3 weeks old and she didn't want to miss out on the action. She was so alert and interested in the camera. Watch out Dan and Christy, you may have a model on your hands! We photographed Dan and Christy's wedding a year and a half ago. It is so great to be able to photograph them again in this new stage of life. Christy is also my fantastic hair dresser. She is the manager at the salon her mother owns, La Difference Salon & Day Spa in West Chester. Thanks little family for a lovely afternoon.

October 6 Nora & Mike engagement

We headed downtown to Philadelphia today for engagement pictures of Nora and Mike who will be getting married in November. Let me just say: Philadelphia is awesome! So many textures to work with. We went to the old portion of the city, after spending some time at the water works, and each step we took we discovered a new texture to work with, from garage doors, to the brick on the side walk, the coblestone, iron gates... ahh too much fun. We could have played all day! But after Neville climbed up on top of a 7 foot wall to get the shot, it was time to get him home! We finished up at Logan Circle and we hope we captured Mike's vision he has had there for the past 5 years! You two were great - thanks for a fun morning and your willingness to do anything, we can't wait until the wedding!

Holiday Cards

This week I've been working on a custom designed card for the holidays. I started out looking for a template I could use, but I just couldn't find anything that grabbed my attention, so I decided to design the card myself! I'm glad I couldn't find anything, because I really enjoyed doing this. I finally got to play with a brush I have been wanting to use to create the elements around the picture. Hopefully, I'll have the opportunity to create some more in the future. -Lori

September 30 Jessie and Jaime engagement

We went down to Baltimore to do an engagement session for Jessie and Jaime. Can I just tell you how much I'm loving city photography. There are so many textures and lines to work with, we are just loving it. Thanks Jessie and Jaime for picking such a great spot. The Visionary Art Musuem has to be our favorite from the day, that blue glass wall with mirrors was just too cool. I didn't post any pictures from that here, but they are on our website. Thanks for being so easy going and we loved your casual approach. We can't wait for the wedding in January - back to the city we go and a reception in a musuem - how great is that!

September 23 Pat & Tom get married

I had the privilege of celebrating the wedding of Patricia and Tom. We met at her son’s house and had a very quiet and relaxed start to the day. I then met up with Tom and his son, Tom, at St. John Chrysostom church in Wallingford before the start of the service. Afterwards I had fun being a part of a butterfly release for the first time in my photography career. Pat’s butterfly wanted to stick around for the reception, but finally decided to leave the comfort of her hand after a couple of minutes! We made a quick stop at Valley Forge Park, across from George Washington’s chapel for some family and bridal party shots. It was an absolute gorgeous backdrop. Many cars honked their horns in celebration as they passed! The reception was held at the home of Tom’s son. After some wonderfully catered food, everyone had fun dancing on the deck until darkness fell. I hope Tom doesn’t have any trouble getting the screen door repaired after it inadvertently attacked one of the guests!! Congratulations Pat and Tom. I wish you all the best as you start your new lives together. Have fun hunting in Wyoming! -Neville
