Sisters

5/26/07 - Today, we had three separate portrait sessions scheduled! The first was with Robin's two daughters. Lori knows Robin through a local MOPS (Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers) group they attend. Robin was looking for something casual and different, so we thought it would be fun to use the backdrop of the Enchanted Wood at the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE. They came prepared with matching outfits and even their fairy wings to add something a little different - how fitting for an enchanted wood. These girls were so cute, sweet and fun to play with. They made our time with them so enjoyable and easy!

Proud Grandma

Today we had a baby session with 7 week old twins (boy and girl). We met their grandma through a wedding we did recently and she asked us to come and photograph her precious little grand babies. Here are some of our favorites...

May 19, 2007 Sarah & Adam get married

Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Adam and Sarah. Our day started off eventfully as our youngest daughter (our 2 year old) woke up not feeling well and proceeded to vomit all over Lori a couple times before we needed to leave! Fortunately, Neville's parents were here visiting from Canada and we had our fantastic babysitter arrive a little earlier to help out. We left with a sleeping little girl and were so happy to find out she was back to her jolly old self by the time she woke up! Plus this wedding was the closest to home that we had all season, another blessing for the mommy!
We arrived at Sarah's parents house with Sarah ready to have fun. What a great family she has! We had so much fun with everyone at the house and enjoyed the laughter that was non stop. Everything flowed so well, we felt like we had tons of time to play throughout the entire day, that really gets our creative juices flowing. The service was at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where we met up with the guys who were more than prepared to have some continued fun. The service was lovely and I caught the mom's wiping away tears during the ceremony. Following a receiving line and exit via guests ringing bells, it started to rain. But that didn't dampen any one's mood and by the time we got to the reception hall at Coatesville Country Club, the bridal party was willing to come outside with umbrellas that were shortly lived because the sun decided to come out for the rest of the day - hurray!

The night was filled with fun and friendship. Fun and kind toasts were made, a few more tears during the special dances, a plastic monkey made an appearance and we were there to be a part of it all. Thank you Sarah and Adam for a lovely day. Congratulations!

Karen & Scott's little bundle of joy

Yesterday we got to meet this little cutie! We were so excited when we received an e-mail from one of our bride and grooms stating that they apparently brought home an additional souvenir from their honeymoon. Nine months later, this little one was born and now at seven weeks he was ready to make his modeling debut. It is so much fun for us to maintain the connections we make with the couples we meet and we love seeing them go through different life stages. We had great light coming in at Karen and Scott's home, and we loved the painted walls they had - it made for such a great backdrop. Congratulations Karen and Scott and thank you for inviting us to be a part of another joyful time in your lives!

May 12, 2007 Amy & Matt get married

We were so pleased to be a part of Amy and Matt's wedding. We did the photography for Amy's sister, Jessica and her husband Bill, in March of this year, so it was so much fun to be a part of the family again. What a special bond this family has, it is a privilege to be there capturing all their connecting moments. We started off the day at Aronimink Golf Club where Amy was getting ready. The landscape was beautiful at this time of year so we headed outside for some images with the girls. Neville met up with the guys in the men's locker room for some fun (no girl's allowed! so Lori stuck with the girl's a little while longer).

After some outdoor shots with the guys, we headed over to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Wayne which is such a lovely place. Matt and Amy were eager for their first view of each other, and something they have been looking forward to. Despite an eventful service, requiring paramedics to assist a groomsman, Amy and Matt continued with their vows while the rain and thunder started. Everyone was relieved that the groomsman was able to make it to the reception following a trip to the hospital. We were amazed that during the service it was pouring outside, but when it was time to get in the limos, the rained stopped for a few moments! The reception was back at Aronimink, and after a few photos, it was time for the party to begin, and it was some party! The band was rocking and everyone had a fantastic time. Of special note, Amy and Matt got married on Amy's grandfather's 90th birthday. She also chose to give her bouquet away to her grandparents in celebration of their years of marriage.

Congratulations Amy and Matt! Have a wonderful honeymoon. Thank you for having us be a part of your family's eventful year!

May 5, 2007 Lauren & Ben get married

We had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lauren and Ben on Saturday. Everything was held at Hyatt Penn's Landing in Philadelphia so we headed downtown for the big day. It was great that both Ben and Lauren got ready at the hotel so Neville hung out with the guys while Lori was with the girls for all the getting ready festivities. Lauren was an elegant bride and her bridesmaids were top notch. They were so helpful to Lauren and to us too! Thanks Mary and Meg - this is our shout out to you! Everyone met up for the Ketubah signing and then we did the formals and had fun with the wedding party. You'll have to check out the images on the website (recent moments gallery) to see what happens when jumping shots go wrong.

Neville and I had a weekend get away in March. We stayed downtown and while we were there, checked out the Hyatt. We had been fantasizing about a shot since that time, and Ben and Lauren made it into reality and better then we had imagined! All the interior decorating was fantastic, we had so much fun utilizing the backgrounds we were surrounded by.

The night was filled with fun and laughter. We enjoyed every moment. Thank you Ben and Lauren for a wonderful time. Have a great honeymoon and safe trip back home to California.

Lorraine & Alex engagement

On Friday we met up with Lorraine and Alex down in Philadelphia for their engagement session. They had flown up from Atlanta for a fun filled weekend. What a fun couple they are, they truly enjoy being with one another and make each other laugh so easily. They chose the boat house row area of Philly because Lorraine was a rower in high school, so she was able to take Alex down memory lane. Thanks Lorraine and Alex for the fun - we are going to have a blast with you at your wedding in October!

Tiffany & Doug Engagement

Our second session of the day took us up to Bryn Athyn to meet up with Doug and Tiffany. We loved the variety we had today, now we had flowers and beautiful stone work. What fun we had, Doug and Tiffany were up for anything and worked that camera! We just love capturing the variety of personalities our different couples have. We truly enjoy our time doing these sessions. Thanks Doug and Tiffany, your wedding in December won't come quick enough for us!

Michael & Lisa Engagement

On Saturday we had 2 engagement sessions. We first met up with Lisa and Michael at Main Street at Exton. Every time we would go there, we would say what a great spot to do a session. We'll, we finally asked someone, and Michael and Lisa said yes! The location was even better than we imagined with great light, great backgrounds, but most of all, a great couple. We could have spent hours there. Thanks Lisa and Michael for so much fun, for getting a little dirty, and willing to do whatever! We can't wait for your wedding in August!

4/21/07 Cathleen and James get married

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Cathleen and James on their wedding day. We couldn't have asked for a better day between the weather, the people, and the other vendors, it was all just wonderful. Everything was at The Desmond so we arrived there to start with the getting ready. What a lovely bride Cathleen was, full of life, smiles, and energy and this girl knows how to work the camera! After we spent time with the girls (including one of Cathleen's bridesmaids who was 39 weeks pregnant - gold star goes to you!) we found the boys in the bar and they were ready for some fun. They kept James laughing, and us too. We had to play with some shadow activity that we were seeing, but never have I seen grown men turn a shadow shot into playtime with shadow puppets (and it was obvious that this was not their first time doing it!)
The wedding was outdoors on our beautiful and sunny day - hurray! We were all watching the weather the week leading up to the big day and keeping our fingers crossed that the ceremony could take place outdoors.

The reception was a blast with great music keeping everyone on the dance floor. Thank you James and Cathleen for allowing us to be a part of your special day. We had a wonderful time and wish you continued joy, love, and happiness in your marriage. Have a wonderful honeymoon!

April 13 Therese and Jake get married

We celebrated the wedding of Therese and Jake on Friday. We started off at Therese's mother's house in Delaware for all the getting ready festivities. Therese looked so regal - absolutely beautiful - and we enjoyed the time we had doing some images of her using absolutely beautiful light that was coming in the window. Everyone was thrilled when the flowers arrived - hydrangeas - one of my favorites. Next we went to the church, Immaculate Heart of Mary, which is a very special place to Therese's family because her grandparents were on the building committee. We met up with the guys who were awesome and ready to have some fun with the photography. The service was lovely, with the beautiful stained glass as the back drop, and Therese's uncle married them. After doing family shots at the church, we headed to Wintethur to do some images of Therese and Jake before arriving at our final destination of Mendenhall Inn. What a great party they had there. I've never seen so many people surround the dance floor during the first dance, or actually on the dance floor the entire night. It was great energy and their DJ, Don Timlin, did a fantastic job. Thanks Therese and Jake for having us be a part of your day. May you have a wonderful marriage!

Appleford

This past summer we did the wedding photography for Andrea and Brad at Appleford in Villanova. They had everything there - getting ready, pictures, outdoor wedding service, and reception. We fell in love with the place and had an absolutely wonderful time doing photography there. Neville was asked to do some interior shots of the house so we thought we'd post some of those images and let you all know about this little gem!

April 7 senior sessions

We spent the afternoon on Saturday with 3 terrific teens. Sarah has been our long time babysitter so it was an absolute privilege to do some senior portraits for her and her friends. How quickly time has gone, I think we knew Sarah when she was as young as our eldest! We headed to St. Mary's in Elverson (Sarah's recommendation) and we loved it there. So many areas to work in and the girls braved the cold for us as well. We really enjoy working with a group of seniors together. It's fun for us to see the friendships and having that extra interaction is great. Thanks everyone for a great time. Don't forget to check out some additional images on the website under portrait moments - seniors.
