5/27/07 - 6/5/07 office hours

The office will be operating on a limited basis May 27-June 5
Lori is going on a cruise to celebrate her cousin's wedding and Neville will be holding down the fort at home. Neville may not be able to respond right away to messages. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

John & Katherine Engagement

5/26/07 - For our third session of the day, we headed over to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, to meet up with John & Katherine. Little did we know how eventful this time would become!!! There have been many memorable moments for us over the years, but this will rank among the top! The last of these five images gives you an indication as to how it ended!

These two were a blast to work with as they relaxed very quickly in front of the camera and really showed us who they are as a couple - their love and enjoyment of each other shown through from the very start. As we moved through the gardens, we had endless possibilities before us to get creative. Suddenly, as we were at the far end of the gardens, the heavens opened up as an incredible thunderstorm hit!! Not even a heavy covering of leaves helped us to stay dry. The four of us got real close as we all huddled under our small, circular reflector. After a few minutes of this we realized the reflector was only serving to keep our camera from getting wet - so, we cut our losses and made a run for the cover of the main visitors center. Jumping in one of the ponds wouldn't have made us more wet!! We would have loved to do more, but certainly had plenty of images to work with - so, after one final image of John & Katherine out in the rain, we decided to head to warmth of our cars! We can't wait to record the memories of their wedding day next month - lets hope its eventful in another way!

Becca & Brian Engagement

5/26/07 - Our second session of the day continued at Winterthur where we met up with Becca and Brian. Becca and Brian are real special to us in that we first met Becca when she was in seventh grade - when we were leaders of a junior high youth group at our home church! We have watched her grow up through high school and college and now has started working as a teacher in the Great Valley School District. Now we get to celebrate with her as she gets married!!!

It was nice to have an established rapport with Becca and Brian as it made it easier to shift our mindset from interacting with children to adults again!! Our time went quickly as we found plenty of creative places with great lighting around Winterthur. It was fun for us to watch as Becca and Brian shared their time together and showed the specialness of their relationship! We look forward to sharing your wedding day with you in July!!

Sisters

5/26/07 - Today, we had three separate portrait sessions scheduled! The first was with Robin's two daughters. Lori knows Robin through a local MOPS (Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers) group they attend. Robin was looking for something casual and different, so we thought it would be fun to use the backdrop of the Enchanted Wood at the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE. They came prepared with matching outfits and even their fairy wings to add something a little different - how fitting for an enchanted wood. These girls were so cute, sweet and fun to play with. They made our time with them so enjoyable and easy!

May 19, 2007 Sarah & Adam get married

Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Adam and Sarah. Our day started off eventfully as our youngest daughter (our 2 year old) woke up not feeling well and proceeded to vomit all over Lori a couple times before we needed to leave! Fortunately, Neville's parents were here visiting from Canada and we had our fantastic babysitter arrive a little earlier to help out. We left with a sleeping little girl and were so happy to find out she was back to her jolly old self by the time she woke up! Plus this wedding was the closest to home that we had all season, another blessing for the mommy!
We arrived at Sarah's parents house with Sarah ready to have fun. What a great family she has! We had so much fun with everyone at the house and enjoyed the laughter that was non stop. Everything flowed so well, we felt like we had tons of time to play throughout the entire day, that really gets our creative juices flowing. The service was at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where we met up with the guys who were more than prepared to have some continued fun. The service was lovely and I caught the mom's wiping away tears during the ceremony. Following a receiving line and exit via guests ringing bells, it started to rain. But that didn't dampen any one's mood and by the time we got to the reception hall at Coatesville Country Club, the bridal party was willing to come outside with umbrellas that were shortly lived because the sun decided to come out for the rest of the day - hurray!

The night was filled with fun and friendship. Fun and kind toasts were made, a few more tears during the special dances, a plastic monkey made an appearance and we were there to be a part of it all. Thank you Sarah and Adam for a lovely day. Congratulations!

Karen & Scott's little bundle of joy

Yesterday we got to meet this little cutie! We were so excited when we received an e-mail from one of our bride and grooms stating that they apparently brought home an additional souvenir from their honeymoon. Nine months later, this little one was born and now at seven weeks he was ready to make his modeling debut. It is so much fun for us to maintain the connections we make with the couples we meet and we love seeing them go through different life stages. We had great light coming in at Karen and Scott's home, and we loved the painted walls they had - it made for such a great backdrop. Congratulations Karen and Scott and thank you for inviting us to be a part of another joyful time in your lives!

May 12, 2007 Amy & Matt get married

We were so pleased to be a part of Amy and Matt's wedding. We did the photography for Amy's sister, Jessica and her husband Bill, in March of this year, so it was so much fun to be a part of the family again. What a special bond this family has, it is a privilege to be there capturing all their connecting moments. We started off the day at Aronimink Golf Club where Amy was getting ready. The landscape was beautiful at this time of year so we headed outside for some images with the girls. Neville met up with the guys in the men's locker room for some fun (no girl's allowed! so Lori stuck with the girl's a little while longer).

After some outdoor shots with the guys, we headed over to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Wayne which is such a lovely place. Matt and Amy were eager for their first view of each other, and something they have been looking forward to. Despite an eventful service, requiring paramedics to assist a groomsman, Amy and Matt continued with their vows while the rain and thunder started. Everyone was relieved that the groomsman was able to make it to the reception following a trip to the hospital. We were amazed that during the service it was pouring outside, but when it was time to get in the limos, the rained stopped for a few moments! The reception was back at Aronimink, and after a few photos, it was time for the party to begin, and it was some party! The band was rocking and everyone had a fantastic time. Of special note, Amy and Matt got married on Amy's grandfather's 90th birthday. She also chose to give her bouquet away to her grandparents in celebration of their years of marriage.

Congratulations Amy and Matt! Have a wonderful honeymoon. Thank you for having us be a part of your family's eventful year!

May 5, 2007 Lauren & Ben get married

We had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lauren and Ben on Saturday. Everything was held at Hyatt Penn's Landing in Philadelphia so we headed downtown for the big day. It was great that both Ben and Lauren got ready at the hotel so Neville hung out with the guys while Lori was with the girls for all the getting ready festivities. Lauren was an elegant bride and her bridesmaids were top notch. They were so helpful to Lauren and to us too! Thanks Mary and Meg - this is our shout out to you! Everyone met up for the Ketubah signing and then we did the formals and had fun with the wedding party. You'll have to check out the images on the website (recent moments gallery) to see what happens when jumping shots go wrong.

Neville and I had a weekend get away in March. We stayed downtown and while we were there, checked out the Hyatt. We had been fantasizing about a shot since that time, and Ben and Lauren made it into reality and better then we had imagined! All the interior decorating was fantastic, we had so much fun utilizing the backgrounds we were surrounded by.

The night was filled with fun and laughter. We enjoyed every moment. Thank you Ben and Lauren for a wonderful time. Have a great honeymoon and safe trip back home to California.

Lorraine & Alex engagement

On Friday we met up with Lorraine and Alex down in Philadelphia for their engagement session. They had flown up from Atlanta for a fun filled weekend. What a fun couple they are, they truly enjoy being with one another and make each other laugh so easily. They chose the boat house row area of Philly because Lorraine was a rower in high school, so she was able to take Alex down memory lane. Thanks Lorraine and Alex for the fun - we are going to have a blast with you at your wedding in October!
