Singing in the Rain

This morning we photographed this little sweetie pie. We photographed her parents wedding 4 years ago and now they have expanded their little family. What a beautiful setting we had to work in and the rain didn't stop us or this little one. We used some available light in the house while waiting for the rain to stop and then it was time to go outside and explore. We just love following little ones around as they enjoy their environment. She was so well behaved and full of life - too much fun for us. Thank you so much for inviting us over to play.

boys will be boys

Today we had the pleasure photographing these two brothers. They had parents, grandparents, and even the neighbors trying to get a smile from the youngest, but he stayed strong and didn't crack under all the pressure! It gave us a good laugh watching this serious little one, while big brother was full of energy and laughter. What fun! And the setting was just beautiful - someone has been working hard in this yard! Thank you so much for having us over!

Atlantic City Engagement

This weekend we had a get-away down in Atlantic City. We stayed with Lori's Aunt and Uncle and had a wonderful time. We played 18 holes of golf on Saturday - a first for Lori! The weather was perfect and we really enjoyed spending such relaxing time together.

On Sunday, we headed to the boardwalk to meet up with Kristen and Anthony and had a blast with them. They were willing participants to play at the Steel Pier and we had loads of fun. We had spotted a mural earlier, and knew we wanted to go there. They were awesome putting themselves in to it! We've always wanted to do some work under a pier and found the perfect spot - the water was just at the right level and those two braved the surf. We can't wait for their wedding next May - we are really going to enjoy their fun and easy going way!

girl on the go

Today we had the pleasure of photographing this little family and their cutie patootie one year old. We headed downtown to Washington Square for the fun. This little one sure kept us on our toes as she was eager to explore all her surroundings. Too much fun for us! She'll be in an upcoming wedding so stay tuned for more!

capture those kids!

Today we had the pleasure of photographing these 2 little kiddos, ages 2 and 4. They are the children of the couple who motivated us to start Stringer Photography way back when! Back in 1999 they were our neighbors and knew of Neville's interest in photography and had seen his artistic eye so they asked him to photograph their wedding. He in turn, placed a camera in my hands and the rest is history! They no longer live in the area (boo hoo for us) but were up for a visit and asked us to take some images of their children. They are too cute!

Surprise him...

I have been wanting to create a new product line to offer our clients and I have finally had the opportunity to give it a try. This is going to be my (Lori) personal project and I'm very excited about it. I really enjoyed capturing images for our intimate collection. My goal is to represent the beauty of women, in a natural, elegant way. The intent is to create images that help you to see yourself the way your fiance or husband sees you and to capture this in a way that is tasteful, artistic, and beautiful.

If you are interested in creating a very special gift for your husband or fiance, this may be it! Please contact us for specials we are currently offering.

Sweet baby Love

On Monday we met this little 5 week old munchkin. She was so cute and soooo good. She was very willing to let us do our thing, and didn't even complain when she was placed on top of her bureau - she actually seemed very content there. We couldn't believe how interested she was with the camera and also, that she was already starting to smile. I think this little family has a smart one on their hands!

Fun fun fun

We had a fun afternoon photographing our fabulous babysitter and her boyfriend. They were up to playing and we had a great time laughing at their antics. It's no wonder our kids love her so much!

Jesse & Melissa get married

We had an absolute blast with Melissa & Jesse this past Saturday! We did their engagement session last fall (see archive post for October) and they were just awesome to work with once again! We started at the Radisson in Trevose for the girls getting ready and the guys..... well.... being guys!!! We then headed over to the Pen Ryn Mansion in Bensalem on the Delaware River for the service and reception. What a beautiful location this is - the house is stunning! During the service we had cloud, bright sun and then some rain. It was incredible how the sun came out, just as Melissa stepped out of the house to walk down the aisle! After the family shots, we had some fun with Melissa & Jesse down by the river before they joined their guests for cocktails. Now the highlight of the evening had to be the surprise visit of Spider Man!! We nearly died laughing at Jesse's fun while getting the garter from Melissa! A memorable day and night for everone. Have a great honeymoon guys - see you when you get back! (As usual - more images can be seen on our website under Galleries - Recent Moments).

Lori's cousin gets married part I

I just returned from my 8 day cruise for the wedding of my cousin Kathryn. We left New York City and traveled down to San Juan, St. Thomas, and Tortola. Kathryn and Dan had 27 people join them for this adventure so it was wonderful to get to hang out with family that we don't see on a regular basis. These are relatives on my father's side of the family. Wanting to represent well for my father, my mom, my sister and I joined the trip. Neville stayed home with the girls and had some adventures of their own. I really enjoy being with my two uncles, as it is uncanny how they have similar mannerisms and facial expressions that my dad had, so it gives me some sweet reminders of him...

Once we got acclimated to being on the boat, I did an engagement session with Kathryn and Dan. I couldn't miss the opportunity to use some truly unique settings found on the boat. I sure missed having Neville doing this with me, but it was still fun playing. I'm glad the focus worked because to those who say you don't feel the movement of the boat - they are not telling the truth. Even on land, I still felt like I was swaying
Hard to see, but that is actually Dan and Kathryn in one of the windows in the center.

Lori's cousin gets married part II

On Thursday, we celebrated the wedding of Kathryn and Dan while we were at port in St. Thomas. They got married on the ship in the chapel. They had to use the photographer that the cruise line provides and are not allowed another professional photographer so.... I got to do some special things that the cruise photographer was not a part of, the getting ready preparations. Although I have many favorite parts to a wedding day, this is truly one of them. I always feel it is such a privilege to be allowed in during these intimate moments of anticipation and preparation. It is so enjoyable to see the interactions of family and girl friends during this time.

Dan and Kathryn actually saw each other before getting ready and I love this shot of them before they separated to get ready.

Lori's cousin gets married part III

Being the unobtrusive guest with large camera catching my favorite candid moments... Ok, so I did ask Dan and Kathryn to stop as they were walking down the hallway to get ready for their formal images. I couldn't pass up the double reflection I was seeing...
Now this is where it really gets good...After the ceremony, reception, and formal images, Dan and Kathryn were free and completed their time with the cruise photographer. Kathryn really wanted to get some beach shots as all their other photography was done on the ship, and of course, I was a willing participant. We had one hour to get to a beach, take photos, and return to the ship before it was to depart St. Thomas. So we found a driver and told him the plan who responded "plenty of time, plenty of time" so the three of us hopped in his van with the plan to get to 2 different locations on the island.

Now I'm not really sure how long it took us to get to the beach, but it wasn't fast. We spent 10 minutes there and the three of us knew we had to be quick. We hopped back in the van with the driver feeling certain we could get to one more spot that is apparently beautiful and still had "plenty of time" After driving for another prolonged period of time, looking at the clock, being past the time to return to the ship, we said forget that beautiful spot, we need to get back to the ship. Shocked, the driver still thought we had "plenty of time" we had to convince him that he must get us back to the ship which we could now see way in the distance across the water, and it was blowing it's horn. What seemed like forever, we finally made it to the parking lot to the tune of the ship's horn blasting warnings, told the driver to just stop and proceeded to make the made dash to the boat. We all had our shoes/flip flops off - Dan and Kathryn in their wedding outfits and me bringing up the rear with all my gear. Of course, everyone on the boat was watching cheering us on, giving us a count down, and yelling we weren't going to make it. All the captains were waiting for us and we boarded the boat while feeling like we needed to be sick! For someone who doesn't like to break rules and has been told countless times by my father in law that the only people who run to the gangplank are those who have had one too many drinks, this was indeed an adventure! While we were running I told Kathryn and Dan that this would be a great photo moment, but I didn't dare stop long enough to capture it! It's a funny story now, but it took us all a while to calm down from that experience.

So that was my eventful cruise. I don't think I'm the cruise type, but it was a great experience and I'm so glad I went. I'm so happy to be back home with my family, it's is incredible how much I missed them while I was gone. Time apart truly makes the heart grow fonder.
